ORG COMMITTEE MEETING August 1, 2006 10:00 AM

Ralph Wurster was able to meet with us to discuss financial reporting and the budget process. Sarah will work on fine tuning the budget, now that we have some idea about our expenses and revenues. Ralph will discuss whether we should put some money in a CD with the B-O-D this month.

Each ORG member will be in charge of selling some Tax Office is selling them for us We plan to ask antique shops and realtors also. They are for sale at Grant Hill Antiques and the library.

We are now handling our own payroll for our employee. The town will be reimbursing us for the Employment tax money that we had to pay two times. Now we are paying our own.

Speakers’ Bureau Sarah and I went to the Rotary to talk about Main Street. We had a great time and a wonderful dinner. Elizabeth and Sarah went to the chamber. Elizabeth went to Roland Park annual meeting on their request and we got a new pledge. I went to the Lions in the spring. Let’s keep at it, and get our message out. Sarah is going to the Tamworth Economic Development Committee August 22. Elizabeth and I went to Maxfield Real Estate, but haven’t had any response yet.

Jean Hansen has made some wonderful cards to send out to second notice pledges. They have photos of the new things going on in our target area.

See you for ORG September 5th at 10:00. Pat

Pledge request letters went out last month response has been much quicker this year, people must be beginning to know what we’re trying to do. Each person who sends in their pledge gets a thank-you and a membership card for 2006. Sarah has been making up labels for the mailings.

The Old Home Week Committee has to raise thousands of dollars this week to pay Old Home Week expenses, so we will only be selling our items at events put on by our members and at the fireworks on the fourth. We are still concerned about internet costs, looking for a better solution, too expensive for the little it is used. Beverly is still working on this.

We now have Workers Compensation Insurance, which is required by NH Main Street in their letter of agreement. This will be paid from Employee Benefits

We received a letter from IRS with five things we need to do to fix by our application by Feb 15. With Ralph Wurster’s help, it is done. However, we are waiting for the state to send back our amended Articles of Agreement with their stamp, so we can include it in the packet.

LOGO for sign in progress. Still nothing for stationary.

I reviewed the budget for 2006 which was passed by the Board of Directors at the January meeting.

Speakers’ Bureau. We had our first occasion to speak to a group, the Lions Club. If anyone knows of a group who would like to learn more about the Main Street Program, let the Organization Committee know.

Do we want to tackle organizing the clean-up activities this spring? This was not discussed, but will be at a later date. Pride Day is May 6 for GMCG, should we use that date also?

Christmas Ornament fund raiser We decided to use the smaller logo. Allison is calling to get more detailed information about the procedure and the cost, since we already have the design created by our artist. We will be using the money we raised to pay the initial charge for the sample.

We agreed to pay $40 toward the cost of 100 brochures to the Economic Restructuring Committee, and $20 toward a gift certificate to Eric Tinker from Valuland who has helped us out so much.

We need to get our Work Plan for all committees laid out by months to ensure that we are covering the whole year somewhat evenly. Some committees may want to consider adding to their plan which goes until December 2006.
